Grimsby Jazz

Grimsby Jazz is a not for profit organisation promoting live performances of modern jazz from leading musicians, and supporting top quality local and regional artists. We began in 2003 but became established as a monthly venue in October 2005. We have been at the Old Clee Club, Clee Crescent, Grimsby, DN32 8LS since 2012. It has its own bar providing real ale, a large stage, comfortable seating and its own car park. Our regular night is WEDNESDAY but always check for any changes before you travel.

Prices are usually £12/14 with concessions for students. Jazz membership of the club will be arranged on your first visit. Tickets are available in advance for all gigs, but please note that some will sell out quite quickly, so book early if you can.
Your ticket covers admission only and does not guarantee a seat except in the case of disabled patrons who must inform us when booking. No-one has yet had to stand.
Grimsby Jazz took over the running of Cleethorpes Jazz Festival in 2009 and held our last Festival in 2016. Charlotte Bowen of The Culture House took over the organising in 2017 and hopefully will continue.

Sponsors are essential to provide 10% of our funding, so please contact us if you are able to fund an event, advert or promotion.

Grimsby Jazz have been successful with a bid for funding from the charity Youth Music. This enabled us to provide a series of improvisation workshops for young people. Further information to be found on the Grimsby Jazz Improvisation Workshops page. Our Arts Council funding has also enabled us to work with MAPAS on further projects with the music groups. The latest funding for "A Fish Tale" project is providing school workshops leading to the Singing Festival in 2017 and the UK  Fish Tale Tour with the Alan Barnes Octet (see dedicated page).
